Raiders running back has his knee hyperextended in the second game of the year. He had to be airlifted to the hospital in order to save his leg. They say his toe touched his groin. Think about that.
Because I was trying to find the date of the upcoming Army-Navy game, I found the info on this awful accident. I remember seeing it live in 1994 on MNF, but could not remember the players' names. I do remember reading the next day in the L.A. Times that Ken Norton, Jr. (49er) knew it was bad and told the press the next day that he held tight onto Napoleon (L.A. Raiders) and kept telling him, "Don't move. Don't move." Norton laid there quite awhile with Napoleon on top of him.
